Elle’s contemporary artworks are shaped by the impressions of what she sees and are deeply influenced by the memories of the places she has traveled. Each work embodies her perception of the natural world, expressed through painting, sculpture, drawing, video, and poetry.
Her work explores the boundaries of the imaginable and the unimaginable, delving into what lies beyond the visible.
Nature, with its infinite kaleidoscope of colors and textures, alongside the places she visits, music, and poetry, serves as her primary source of inspiration. She is captivated by the intricacies of a spider’s web reflecting light and the iridescent, stained-glass transparency of butterfly wings, which inspire the colors she creates using natural mineral pigments.
Elle seeks to express the harmony, beauty, and mystery of these natural wonders, forging a connection between the artwork and the viewer that is both seen and felt. With each creation, she strives to leave her mark on the evolution of visual arts.
Elle Maldonado was raised, educated, and currently lives and works in New York City. She has also lived in the Costa Brava region by the Mediterranean in Spain and created artworks while on a Travel Art Grant she was awarded for her work.
Born in San Juan, PR, USA, raised in New York City.
Her work has been collected by art lovers throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. She is a wonderer and wanderer, who enjoys travel and walks in the park by the East River in NYC. Her passion for art is shared in the studio with her cat Chloe.
